Customer Briefing Center 

Autodesk’s software allows manufacturers and engineers to experience concepts before they’ve been realized.

Opportunity

Autodesk wanted to create a space to demonstrate the value of its software to its customers. The new customer experience center we designed targets manufacturers and engineers, and aims to inspire them by conveying the awe inspiring capabiities of digital prototyping


Development

Proof of concept is key to our project. Each part of our design offers a new opportunity for visitors to use the Autodesk software creatively. At the center of the room a series of three free-standing, transparent interactive displays deliver an immersive experience while maintaining the architecture’s sight lines. The visitor’s interaction with a curtain of infrared light washing the surface of the glass drives each panel’s content . On the consumer products panel visitors can design a golf club from form to materials. Built on re-engineered technology from a standard Nintendo Wii, an Autodesk-branded devise enables visitors to take a swing with their newly designed golf club.


Solution

To acheive Autodesk’s messaging goals, Downstream approached storytelling and space planning from the perspective of the visitor. To stay true to Autodesk’s clean visual aesthetic, the content and user experience were cutting edge, but always accessible. This led to careful choreography of motion graphics, a lenticular supergraphic, and several hands-on tactile displays. The result is a fully interactive space that uplifts the brand and uses dynamic, innovative delivery methods to create a memorable experience.
