University of Oregon Arena
In 2011, the Ducks are moving from legendary McArthur Court into a state of the art arena for basketball and volleyball.
  • From Mac to Matt
The University of Oregon is on the way to building a landmark sports facility, the Matthew Knight Arena, which replaces a beloved but aging facility. The university’s athletic department wanted to create a website where fans could learn about the new arena and why it was necessary. They asked Downstream to develop a hub for seating and pricing information that would be a new portal to harness the growing fan excitement leading up to opening day. It was imperative the site expressed the energy of the hot Oregon brand.

  • Phase 1: Godunks.net
Downstream conducted extensive research into the technical and informational requirements for the website. We decided to launch the site in two phases. Phase 1, which launched in October 2008, lays out the basic structure for the future, including streaming media, a countdown clock, renders of the building, and a community section that includes blogs, news, and the ability for fans to send in their questions and images.

  • Phase 2: MacToMatt.net
Phase 2 started with a full redesign and rebranding of the site from GoDunks.net to MacToMatt.net. We rebuilt the website from the ground up ontop of a full featured content management system to allow for easy updates and the moderation of comments to news articles. Additionally we added new features including an interactive seat viewer, video fly-throughs of the stadium and comparison animations that showcased specific features of the new stadium.

  • Phase 2: Branded Sales Environment
The University of Oregon wanted to leverage the website content we created for MacToMatt.net in their sales center. We restructured the content to be compatible with a touch interface and built it into an interactive wall within their facility. Here users can explore the seat viewer, watch videos and discover an interactive timelapse of the stadium progress to date.
