Annabel Dundas moves into a newly created role as Creative & Managing Director, ANZ, to unlock Downstream clients’ experiential and digital transformation opportunities.

Melbourne, August 27, 2024Downstream has appointed Annabel Dundas as Creative & Managing Director for the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region. With over 25 years of experience in the design industry, Annabel has been instrumental in guiding Downstream’s projects in the region over the past two years and will now take on a larger role to lead the creative vision and operational excellence of the ANZ business.

Annabel’s journey with Downstream began two years ago when she joined the Melbourne studio as Executive Producer. Her extensive background in production, post-production, motion graphics, and branding, along with her expertise in delivering award-winning content for global brands, made her a perfect fit for our multidisciplinary approach. Her previous roles as the founder and Creative Director of design agency Tilt Creative, with studios in London and Melbourne, and her long-standing reputation in the sports graphics market, have made her a valuable asset to the team.

“Annabel’s experience and leadership have been invaluable to us. Her ability to navigate complex projects and extract the best creative solutions while aligning with client budgets and our business model is unmatched,” said Tim Canfield, CEO at Downstream. “We are thrilled to have her lead our creative and business operations in Australia and New Zealand, where her influence will undoubtedly continue to drive success.”

Annabel’s career has been marked by notable achievements, including her pioneering work with FIFA, where she developed and delivered a consistent on-air package for all FIFA matches over a decade. Her expertise extended to other major sports organizations, including the Rugby World Cup, T20 Cricket, and Formula E. In 2023, Annabel completed a Master of Design Futures at RMIT Australia, further enhancing her skills in applying human-centered design approaches to broader systems, including social, cultural, and economic futures.

Commenting on her new role, Annabel said, “After 30 years of running my own business, it would take something extraordinary to entice me away from the company I founded. My time with Downstream has been just that. The projects we’ve delivered, like the Geelong Sports Museum, have been some of the most rewarding of my career. I am excited to lead the talented team here and to contribute to Downstream’s innovative and impactful work across Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.”

As a global experience design agency, Downstream has been at the forefront of experience design since its inception, with a strong presence in Australia dating back to 2014. The company has led significant projects for major clients, including Telstra, PwC, Google, and Nike, solidifying its reputation as a leader in the industry.
