Downstream is proud to be a key player in shaping the narrative, brand, and guest experience at the upcoming new Nissan Stadium, set to become the home of the Tennessee Titans and a premier entertainment venue in Music City.

We are partnering with the Tennessee Titans to create the new Nissan Stadium, set to open in 2027. The result? A state-of-the-art enclosed stadium located on Nashville’s vibrant East Bank. Spanning 1.8m sq ft with approximately 60,000 seats, it will not only host Titans games but also TSU football games, community activities, and globally renowned events such as Super Bowls and Final Four tournaments.

In collaboration with a wider architecture, engineering and design team, Downstream plays a pivotal role in this project, providing experiential design, sponsorship integration, and stadium signage & wayfinding. The goal is to give the stadium a distinct voice, bring stories to life, and create an unforgettable fan experience.

Brian James, Creative Director at Downstream, is excited about the opportunity, stating: "Our team feels honored to shape the New Nissan Stadium’s narrative and craft an exceptional experience for all who enter. Working with such a storied program in the culturally rich city of Nashville is an Experience Designer’s dream."

We have started with a meticulous evaluation of the legacy Titans' story while seamlessly acknowledging the rich history and culture that make Tennessee unique. By carefully intertwining the Titans' storied past with the essence of 'uniquely Tennessee,' we aim to craft an immersive and authentic experience that resonates with both the team's legacy and the vibrant local culture.

Inspired by the dynamic city of Nashville, the stadium's architecture and design focus will be on multi-purpose functionality and sustainability. The project strives for LEED Gold certification, aiming to minimize waste and achieve net energy and net water status. And a 12,000 sq ft community space within the stadium will be dedicated to hosting classes for local schools, job trainings, and community events. It aims to become a hub for diverse events, contributing to the broader East Bank development plan led by the City of Nashville.

“The architecture and engineering (A&E) team’s role is to bring the stadium vision to life… we are tremendously excited by this A&E team, both for its considerable talent and its strong mix of local and diverse perspectives" - Adolpho Birch, Titans Senior Vice President and Chief External & League Affairs Officer.

The New Nissan Stadium stands as a grand stage of pride for Nashville and the state of Tennessee. We're excited about contributing to this landmark project and to the new era it will usher in for the East Bank development and the city of Nashville.
